8-th Edition

The three-judge panel of 8th Gdańsk DocFilm Festival consisting of the chairman Maciej Drygas, Małgorzata Taraszkiewicz-Zwolicka and dr Sebastian Jakub Konefał unanimously chose the film:”Unmistaken Child” directed by Nati Baratz (Israel, 2008,102 min) to be granted the main award: the statue “Brama Wolności” and the price award of 10000 zł sponsored by the President of the city of Gdańsk ,Paweł Adamowicz, for the beautiful and touching picture of the world of spirituality and humility.

Additionaly, the judges honoured  documentary film: “The last tightrope dancer in Armenia” directed by Arman Yeritsyan and Inny Sahakyan (Armenia/USA/Japan,2009,54 min) with the statue ”Brama Wolności” for showing  truly sensitively  the world sinking into oblivion.

The chairman of the judges: Maciej Drygas received the special award-the statue “Brama Wolności” and diploma for being insightful and consistent in attempting to reveal the truth. The Audience Award was granted to the documentary film of Paweł Jóźwiak-Rodan  :“Mama,Tata,Bóg i Szatan”.The lucky viewer who voted for the Audience Award and won a DVD player and cosmetics Yves Rocher was Alina Baczynska.
